Minutes meeting 2018

Minutes of the meeting of Board of Governors AESCOET (Polytechnic).
Held on 15 th September 2017 at 2.00 pm in the office of the Polytechnic
building.
The following members were present:

The meeting of the Governing Body commenced with a welcome note by the Chairman
Mr. Rajeev Jagtap. In his address he informed that he will try to continue the practices of
his predecessors for the development of the institution in the capacity of its Chairman. He
expressed confidence in getting the cooperation and support from other members of the
Governing Body.
The Principal, Prof. Prashant Patil at the outset extended his cordial welcome to all the
members of the Governing Body. He also explained the present status of First year
Admission 2016- 17 and Direct 2nd year 2016-17. The Principal presented the activities
taken place during the period May, 2016 – May 2017 and highlighted the important ones.
The following suggestions & observations are made by the members of the Governing
Body based on the presentation:
 To take necessary steps to increase the admissions in the courses like Computer
Engineering Electronics & telecommunication, and Information technology where
admissions are less.
 It is also suggested to think about the closing of courses of second shift where
admissions are less and to start new courses.
Members appreciated the Principal, Training and Placements and members of the
placement cell for very good placements.
Appreciated the decision of implementation of programs like Skill India ,digital India,
Live projects Training.
Members appreciated the institution for showing good academic performance of the
passed out batch students.

Minutes – PART A- Procedural
Item No.A1: Confirmation of the minutes of the 9th meeting held on 15-10-2016. The
minutes of the Governing body meeting held on 15-10-2016 was read and confirmed. No
Comments were received.
PART B – Status – Reports
Item No.B1: The Governing body members suggested to conduct/arrange more training
programs for staff members, invited talks for diploma students, extra math’s coaching
classes for hostel students, soft skill training programs, Research Methodology lectures and
talks from Industry experts for students. The Governing body also suggested making an
action plan for improving the academic performance of the students from weaker sections.
Item No.B2: Result Analysis (2011-15 Batch) The Governing body members appreciated
the institution for showing good academic performance of the passed out batch students.
However, members concerned about the low placement rate of some branches like
computer & IT. The Governing body members directed to present a detailed report on
training programs, action plan for high intensity training and other activities before the next
Board of Governors meeting.
PART C -Discussions, Considerations and Ratification
Item No.C1: Annual report of the institution (2016-17) The Governing body members
approved the annual report (2017-18) of the institution and permitted to publish in the
institution web site.
Item No.C2: Annual Budget of the institution The Principal, Prof. Prashant Patil presented
the annual budget of the institution (Agenda notes, Page No.9) and the Governing body
approved the budget.
Item No.C3: The Governing Body noted with pleasure that institutional consultancy
activities, like soil testing taken by civil dept.
PART D – Other Items
Item No.D1: The Governing Body noted with pleasure that 7 faculty are awarded ME. It is
also noted that some faculty members submitted their Ph.D. theses. The governing Body
congratulated their effort and promised continued support to faculty in such efforts.
The Governing Body while expressing its satisfaction about the publications by the faculty
suggested the administration to encourage the faculty for more publications in reputed
journals and conferences.
Item No.D2: The Governing Body complimented the staff for conducting Training
Programs, Workshops etc. for faculty and students.
Item No.D3: The Governing Body noted that many faculty members of the College
attended short-term courses, training programs, workshops, etc. organized by other
Institutions and MSBTE.
Item No.D4: The governing Body expressed its satisfaction that the students are actively
participating in co-curricular, sports, and social, ethical, cultural and other activities.
Item No.D5: The Governing Body was elated to know that a number of distinguished
personalities visited the College and made delightful comments about the College.
The Governing Body expressed its happiness about the Industrial visit conducted by
different branches in academic year.
The meeting was concluded with a Vote of Thanks proposed by the Principal
